Drug lobbyists train cops in “tolerance for the mentally ill”

In the name of tolerance, corporations train local police.
The host city to Harvard and to MIT is training its police to work for the pharmaceutical industry in the way that they treat persons accused of psychiatric illness. This was the story told by reporter Sarah Andrews as "Cops learn tolerance for mentally ill residents." (in the Cambridge Chronicle, December 15, 2005)
The Boston police killed a student after being trained by corporations to use high tech weapons. Now the Cambridge police are being trained by corporate lobbyists for the pharmaceutical industry.
The National Alliance for the Mentally Ill is funded by drug companies. They promote more treatment and more funding for more treatment. They do not protect persons from psychiatric abuses.
At the tolerance sessions persons were encouraged to reveal to the public their medical history. What was the benefit to the patient for this invasion of privacy?
Were these sessions private? If they were open to the public why were they not advertised as open meetings as other government functions are required to be? Who chose this private organization to do the job of the Mass Criminal Justice Training Council?
Is the Commonwealth unable to provide training in the civil rights laws of the state and the US? What is the explanation for the inability of the City Attorney to provide legal rights training to the police? Why is the City's handicapped commission silent on this private abuse of public powers?
Why did it take the City of Cambridge 32 years after the Rehabilitation Act of 1973—which applies to police,—to consider teaching police officers respect for persons accused of psychiatric illness? Will the City pay reparations to all of the persons who have been harmed by police and psychiatric abuses for the last 200 years?
Will police officers and the psychiatrists who continue to abuse citizens ever be held accountable for their abuses?
