Last year, Walt Disney World announced that the Disney Skyliner EPCOT line would close for renovations from January 23, 2022 to January 28, 2022. Last week, the EPCOT line unexpectedly closed earlier than expected. Cast members told us it was down for “maintenance.” Today, the EPCOT line is officially shut down for its originally announced planned renovation.
It was also announced that the refurbishment would be shortened to three days instead of the originally announced five.
We stopped at the Skyline station at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. Signs that read ‘Disney Skyliner service to EPCOT and Disney’s Riviera Resort is not available. Please use an alternate mode of bus transportation” are displayed at the front.
We also checked out the resort at Disney’s Riviera Resort.
The sign says “Closed” for the EPCOT line, but Disney Skyliner still operates to Disney Hollywood Studios and Pop Century & Art of Animation station.
Similar to the sign at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, signs are displayed out front encouraging guests to use bus transportation.
The EPCOT line is indeed closed to customers, but we did see some gondolas running, likely for testing purposes.
