Police blotter from TBR News Media for the February 3, 2022 issue

The following incidents were reported by Suffolk County Police:

Centereach

A resident of Continental Drive in Centereach called police to report a man allegedly removed a delivery package from his porch worth approximately $400 on Jan. 23.

■ A petty theft was reported at Walmart on Middle Country Road in Centereach on January 22. A woman allegedly stole a blender, two blenders and a juicer with a total value of $650.

7-11 on Mark Tree Road in Centereach reported that someone stole two preloaded Vanilla Visa gift cards worth $500 each on January 23.

A petty larceny was reported to Carters on Middle Country Road in Centereach on January 28. Four women allegedly stole matching children’s clothing worth approximately $200.

A resident of Bellwood Avenue in Centereach reported that a catalytic converter was stolen from a 2002 Ford F250 on January 23. The approximate value was $800.

Comack

A shoplifter at Home Depot on Jericho Turnpike in Commack was arrested Jan. 24 for allegedly attempting to steal 9 bundles of electrical wire worth about $1,400.

■ A resident of Fairfield Way in Commack reported that someone stole his vehicle, a 2006 Hyundai Sonata, from the parking lot on January 27th. The keys had been left inside the car worth $5,000.

■ The RX Express Pharmacy on Jericho Turnpike in Commack reported a burglary on January 27. Two men reportedly smashed a window, took various prescription drugs and fled the scene.

■ Walmart on Veterans Memorial Highway in Commack reported a man stole a Hart chainsaw, Goodyear air compressor, clothing and more on Jan. 23. The value of the stolen items was $315.

Ten Hills

A resident of Ibsen Court in Dix Hills reported the theft of a catalytic converter from a 2009 Toyota Prius parked in the driveway on January 23. The value was around $800.

Stop & Shop on East Jericho Turnpike in Dix Hills reported a woman stole approximately $450 worth of assorted groceries on January 23.

Northport East

A resident of 10th Avenue in East Northport called police on January 27 to report that a Tumi briefcase containing a Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 had been stolen from an unlocked vehicle. The items were valued at $850.

A resident of Cherry Street in East Northport was scammed on January 26. A woman called the house posing as the victim’s daughter and said she had been arrested and needed bail. A man came home and collected $8,100.

East Setauket

■ Walmart on Nesconset Highway in East Setauket called police Jan. 27 to report a man stole a 55-inch Samsung LED smart TV worth about $500.

■ Security at the Walmart store on Nesconset Highway in East Setauket called police on January 27 to report that a man allegedly stole 6 cases of Modelo beer from the store worth $180.

Fort Salonga

A house on Chestnut Stump Road in Fort Salonga was burglarized on January 23. A suspect entered through an unlocked laundry room window and stole jewelry.

Hauppauge

■ A man called the police on January 27 to report that his car had been stolen from the QuickChek parking lot on Motor Parkway in Hauppauge. The man said he left his Toyota Solara 2000 running while he drove to the store. When he returned, the car, valued at $1,500, was missing.

Huntington Station

Macy’s on Walt Whitman Road in Huntington Station reported a major theft on January 28. A person allegedly stole 8 coats worth approximately $1,500.

A male shoplifter was arrested at Saks Fifth Avenue on Walt Whitman Road in Huntington Station on Jan. 26 for allegedly stealing two dress shirts and jeans worth $2,400.

Lake Grove

■ A catalytic converter was reported stolen from a 2002 Ford F250 parked on Olive Street in Lake Grove on January 22. The stolen item was valued at approximately $650.

■ A woman shopping at Trader Joe’s in Lake Grove on January 27 left her wallet unattended in her shopping cart. When she returned her wallet containing credit cards and cash, it was missing.

■ Sephora at the Smith Haven mall in Lake Grove reported that a woman stole three Daisy by Marc Jacobs perfumes on January 28. The items were valued at $340.

H&M of Smith Haven Shopping Center in Lake Grove reported petty theft on January 28. A woman allegedly stole matching clothes worth around $200.

Miller Square

A resident of Henearly Drive in Miller Place reported that someone stole a chainsaw worth $300 from his garden shed on January 24.

Mount Sinai

A resident of Barnsley Cres in Mount Sinai reports his car was broken into on January 22 and a debit card was stolen. Over $1,000 in purchases were then made with the stolen card.

Port Jefferson

A resident of Longacre Court in Port Jefferson called police to report money had been removed from two unlocked vehicles parked in the driveway on January 23..

A resident of Owasco Drive in Port Jefferson reported that a car parked on his property was ransacked and money stolen on January 23.

rocky point

■ One a burglary was reported at a vacant house on Garland Road in Rocky Point on January 21. The suspects entered the house through a rear window and unlocked a sliding glass door before removing the copper piping.

St James

A petty theft was reported at the K&T Foot Spa on Lake Avenue in St. James on January 24. A person entered the store, picked up the cash register containing cash and fled on foot.

Selden

■ Home Depot on Middle Country Road in Selden reported that a man allegedly stole $350 worth of car batteries from the store on January 26 and fled in a Ford Edge.

A resident of Fulton Avenue in Smithtown reported that someone went to his mailbox and stole his mail on January 25.

■ A resident of Alpine Court in Smithtown called police on January 24 to report someone had stolen his credit card and made purchases worth $2,600 at Brothers Wine, Walmart and two different Target stores .

South Setauket

Target on Pond Path in South Setauket reported two shoplifters on Jan. 26. A man and a woman allegedly hid 17 videos and 1 calculator in their jackets and walked out of the store.

Target on Pond Path in South Setauket reported petty theft on Jan. 26. A man allegedly stole a Dyson V8 Animal vacuum worth $400.

■ A man was arrested by security at the Home Depot store on Middle Country Road in Selden on January 26 for allegedly attempting to steal various power tools and wires worth around $2,600.

stony stream

A resident of William Penn Drive in Stony Brook reported that a purse, credit cards and cash were stolen from a vehicle parked in his driveway on January 22. A front window was smashed to gain entry.

Terryville

A resident of Terryville Road in Terryville reported that a wallet containing credit cards was stolen from an unlocked vehicle on January 22.
