MOSCOW, February 17. /TASS/. Moscow hopes that representatives of Western countries and journalists from foreign media will be more serious and responsible about the statements they make, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Thursday.
“Russia probably intends to wait for a more serious, responsible and truthful approach from representatives who make wild and irresponsible statements and from the media who absolutely misuse these statements, disregard their reputation and are ready to just wipe the floor with it,” he added. he told Channel One television.
Peskov said many Western media outlets “stop at nothing”.
“To be honest, I’m not sure about their audience, but our audience just laughs a lot about it,” he said. “May their readers, probably, finally understand how much authority their news media is worth.”
Over the past few months, Western media have repeatedly reported that Russia may allegedly invade Ukraine, citing “exact dates and times” and then pushing them back again and again. Russia has always rejected these reports. President Vladimir Putin has said that Moscow does not want war and to prevent it Russia has started talks on security guarantees.
