40-year-old building collapses in Mumbai’s Borivali: Passers-by were passing at the time of the accident, 15 people feared they were trapped
A major accident took place in Borivali west of Mumbai on Friday. A four-storey building collapsed in Saibaba Nagar. After the information, the team of firefighters and police went to the scene. According to the information, this accident happened around 12:30 p.m., when people were passing around this building. Then he collapsed and fell. The name of the building is Geetanjali. Eight fire engines, two rescue vans and three ambulances are on site. The team is engaged in rescue and rescue work.
Officials said this building is 40 years old. BMC had declared it dilapidated. After that, the building was also evacuated.
Earlier on August 15, part of the roof of a house collapsed in Mumbai’s Mulund district. Because of this, two people died after being trapped under the rubble. The building was about 20-25 years old and the BMC had posted a notice about it.
Two months ago, 19 people were killed and 15 injured when a four-storey building collapsed in Naik Nagar, Kurla East, Mumbai. The building was previously declared “dilapidated” but was later declared “repairable”. According to the Mumbai police, people were living there even after the notice.
