AAP MLA Amanatullah arrested in Delhi: Unlicensed gun and 24 lakh cash found in ACB raid; action in the case of the waqf table

Amanatullah Khan, MP for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), was arrested. On Friday, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) raided five locations, including his home. 24 lakh cash and two pistols were recovered from the hiding places of two close associates of Amanatullah.
One of these guns is foreign and has no license. Apart from the MP’s house, the ACB had raided five locations in Jamia, Okhla and Gafoor Nagar in connection with the Waqf Board-related scam. Regarding ACB’s action, Amanatullah said that investigators say there is pressure from above, but these people are doing it on the complaint of the CEO of the Waqf Board.
Amanatullah said – I had sent a proposal for only 125 permanent employees but it was not approved. For this reason, I had to hire contract employees. The board committee made the recruitment on the basis of merit. I cannot say that my relatives had the preference.
24 people were recruited before me. All were recruited solely on merit. These people were appointed by the same CEO who complained. They ask for 2022 records. I followed all the standards. 23-24 FIR are registered against me.
According to media reports, Khan faces 33 charges, including manipulation of the Waqf council’s bank account, building rent on council property, purchasing vehicles, bribery and appointing his relatives. ACB recorded one case in 2020.
Khan was accused of fraud between 2018 and 2020. In August this year, the ACB wrote a letter to the LG saying that Amanatullah should be removed from his position as Chairman of the Waqf Board because his nature is very aggressive and that he is a criminal.
In Punjab, there was a CBI raid on May 7 at the home of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Jaswant Singh Gajjanamajra. This raid was carried out in the case of a 40 crore bank fraud. Gajjanamajra is the AAP MP for Amargarh Assembly constituency. This raid was done at 3 locations in Malerkotla of Sangrur. This is the same MP who gave an affidavit after winning the election that he would only take Re 1’s salary.
