Dear local Hudson Valley TV news station: please fix your audio

I like having a local TV news station. I’m a TV person and like to follow what’s happening here in the Hudson Valley. My provider only has one local news station, and as far as reporting goes, they’re not too bad. Journalists and presenters are friendly and good at what they do. But it’s very difficult to watch.

The problem is more sound than anything else. The audio levels are so inconsistent that I actually have to watch the news with the remote in my hand. The id they do right before the news is still very strong. Then, the presenter has an average audio level. But the meteorologist is barely audible. And the interview segments are so quiet that I have to turn the volume up then turn it down before the loud commercials start. And the volume up and down keeps going on and on.

Not for nothing, but does anyone from your station ever watch the news you broadcast? It’s exactly the same newspaper every hour. Isn’t someone who has done the reporting, given the weather or on the ground a little curious to know how the show went? Nobody looks at it and says, “Damn, those levels are just awful. And it’s not just my television. It also happens with my friends.

I feel like with a few tweaks, you might be able to put on a decent newscast. A newscast that I could watch without constantly turning the volume up and down. It would be a great service for your viewers and your news show would look much more professional. What are you saying? Do you plan to look into this problem? Thank you in advance from a happier future viewer.
