NORFOLK, Neb. – Norfolk Police say they were called to the 1000 block of Koenigstein Ave. for physical disturbance.
The NPD said there was a report of a 27-year-old Norfolk man who physically assaulted another man. Police said they found the man upon arrival.
The man had a Nebraska state probation officer who also arrived and issued a detention order against him for the assault.
Officers said they informed the man he was under arrest and told him to place his hands behind his back.
NDP officers said that as they handcuffed the man, the 27-year-old grabbed the officer’s hand and did not let go.
Authorities said the man continued to resist the officer’s efforts to control him and handcuff him.
Officers said they were eventually able to apply the handcuffs, but he continued to kick them.
The NPD said officers had to put shackles on his legs to control his kicking.
The man was then taken to Norfolk Jail.
He was remanded in custody and also arrested for third degree assault and resisting arrest.
The man was later transported to Madison County Jail.
