Towards cooler temperatures | News Channel 3-12

After an incessant heat wave and some rain, the weather will finally be relatively normal from Tuesday. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected to continue through the evening in the mountains, while almost everywhere else has dried up from rain this weekend. There is also a continuing risk of rain this evening for communities in the interior.

A flood watch remains in effect for the Ventura County Mountains until 10 p.m. Monday due to excessive rainfall.

There was a slight drop in temperature on Monday as the flow ashore increased. On Tuesday, a marine layer will return, helping temperatures to cool further. Inland communities are finally seeing relief from the heat, with highs in the mid to high 80s on Tuesday. Highs along the coast will be in the 70s.

By Wednesday and Thursday, below normal temperatures are expected before further slight warming occurs towards the end of the week and over the weekend.
